In 1956, he applied his theoretical knowledge to full-scale experimental aircraft in the fields of aerodynamcs, airplane stability and control at the NASA Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base in California, also known as the Dryden Labs.
Three years later, Malvestuto joined the Flight Science Division at Lockheed California Corp. as Division Chief. There he was responsible for the theoretical developments, concepts and engineering, related to the flight performance of aircraft and space vehicles.
In 1964, he joined the Martin Marietta Corp. as Chief of Flight Technology and directed the development of aerodynamic technologies, flight mechanics and thermal control systems. He also initiated concepts at Lockheed Corp. and Martin Marietta Corp. for space vehicles, namely the X-24A (Lockheed Corp.) and the X-24B (Martin Marietta Corp.).
By 1972 Malvestuto founded his own corporation to devote his full-time efforts to the development and testing of the Turbo Wing® technology as it relates to aircraft and watercraft. The technology is a compilation of 30 years of sole conception, research, development and design; combined with full-scale applications resulting in acquired data that quantifies the theory behind the technology.
